Normally I look forward to the summer season for all the beach worthy days, lazy poolside chill sessions and vacation vibes. But because 2020 had other plans, I’m looking forward to Fall more this year than in season’s past.
So what does that look like? Typically the excitement starts when retailers start stocking their racks with all the fall fashion and home stores line the shelves with all the seasonal decor. And in previous years the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been a solid event that has gotten me looking forward to summer’s end to wear all the fall worthy sweaters, booties and jackets.
This year however, with things looking so differently, I have to admit I was not as excited for the sale. Sure enough though, once they rolled out with their full sale catalog online, I was reminded of how much I enjoy shopping the sale. I still kept my purchases to a minimum, only getting solid favorites and/or replacing some wardrobe workhorses. This cream cowl neck sweater was exactly that. Super soft, a comfortable loose turtleneck that doesn’t feel suffocating and just enough of an over sized fit makes this a solid favorite for me. In fact it was featured in last year’s sale, but I had since stained mine. So I was so happy that they made it available again this year because I wore it on repeat all last fall and winter. (I made sure to get it in all the colors as well this time).
With the season also comes my love of prints. Next to leopard, camo is my all time favorite print to sprinkle into my fall outfits. Easily another neutral for me, I will feature it as a main staple like this camo v neck sweater as well as a fun accent in my accessories like these new camo NMD sneakers I picked up recently. I already love this style of Adidas sneakers and I couldn’t have been more excited when they came out with this print!
These are just a few of my recent looks I’ve work lately and will be smiling my way through to the end of the summer so I can style and wear all my new and well loved fall finds!
