The ombré trend has been in the spotlight for a few years now. I happen to be a pretty big fan of it, despite it’s usual bold and bright colors, there is just something so stunning about the color flow of man ombré. The word ombré actually means colors and tones fading into each other. So, the ombré trend is everywhere from our hair, to our nails, to our dresses to our shoes, everywhere. When I was first introduced to the ombre trend, it was when Khloe Kardashian debuted her new ombré, hair color. It was a beautifully blended chestnut brown that gorgeously flowed to caramel then to bright blonde, it was basically beautiful mermaid hair to say the least. Slowly after her debut, I started to see ombré dresses, tops, even ombré manicures in the fashion world. I hope the ombré trend is here to stay, at least in the fashion world, because it truly is such a pretty look. Most of my ombré purchases have been made through Nordstrom, they always have the best variety of styles and trends at all different price points, so there is always something for everyone.
Recently, I purchased this Free People Cora Lee Off the Shoulder Ombre Top for summer from Nordstrom and was inspired to write an ombré blog post. Well, more like a blog post dedicated to my ombré top, and my love for all things ombré. This top is a great pick for summer as it’s very light weight and soft, it’s got a very bohemian feel and look to it as it has a ruffle overlay. This just accentuates the ombré effect by giving it a waterfall illusion – so pretty! I decided to style my top with one of my favorite pair of BLANKNYC Boyfriend Denim Shorts. I went for a darker wash to pair with this top because I wanted to try to give some length to the darker colors at the bottom of the shirt. These are my favorite denim shorts, they’re budget friendly, have an awesome true-to-size fit and match every summer look.
What are your thoughts on the ombré trend?
