Last week, I was sailing around Northern Europe on the Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of The Sea’s. I was beyond excited for this trip because I was able to check off 7 new countries that I haven’t visited before. We did stop at 8 countries, but I had already been to Germany. I packed my life into two suitcases and a carry on and headed to Copenhagen, Denmark for our first stop. I love exploring all these new places. I love experiencing new foods and culture, so I flew into Denmark to embark on my new adventure. Before the first day of the cruise, we had some time to ourselves to go around and explore. We decided to head to Nyhavn first, which is historically known for those bright colored houses all in a row. Here is a little back history on Nyhavn. It was established by King Christian V in 1670-1673. Nyhavn is a better known as a port town for cargo and fishermen’s daily catch, which means they have some amazing seafood. Unfortunately I don’t like seafood, so I did not try it myself. People travel here to see the beautiful buildings and houses that reach up to 350 years old, which makes it a huge tourist town. If you are looking for some good bars, restaurants and historical wooden ships, then you must visit Nyhavn.
While roaming all these places, what you wear is key. Especially with the time of year you visit. It was slightly chilly for June. Maxing out at about 60 degrees while we were there. So you want to make sure you pack accordingly. I always want to make sure I look stylish, but comfortable at the same time. If you want to be on the safe side, always wear something that keeps you covered or non revealing clothes. Comfortable is my go to look for most trips as I know I will be walking a lot and sightseeing, so it’s best to leave your stilettos at home. Picking the right shoes is so important. You want to go with shoes you can walk around in all day and won’t give you blisters. JSlides are some of my favorite shoes. They come in so many different styles that I actually packed three pairs because I couldn’t chose which to pack. Pairing jeans with JSlides and a simple black lace up sweater creates a casual yet chic look that’s ready to hit the streets of Denmark. This was only my first stop on my trip around the Baltic Sea. I can’t wait for you all to see the rest of my trip.
