Working from home, it’s been a quiet start to September with not much of my personal daily routine changing, but I know for many, it’s the start of a new school year. Whether you are starting a new semester yourself, or back to prepping mornings for your little ones, it might feel like you’re getting out more these days.
My school days are a thing of the past, but I did tell myself that I was going to make more of an effort to get out more, even if just for the boring mundane necessity stuff. Quarantining has made it all too easy for me to remain in my bubble, serving as a safe haven from everything and everyone. I admit that I am susceptible to the hermit life and need to make conscious efforts to make sure it doesn’t become a long term thing.
Most years, I look forward to breaking the long dark months of winter as as soon as the warmer weather hits, but 2020 had other plans, lol. With canceled vacations, eateries and entertainment venues closing doors in response to government orders, “cozy at home” took on a whole new meaning this past spring and summer.
All that just to say, that Fall has always felt like a fresh start. The added traffic on the street and the roads from parents getting their kids to and from school reminds me of those “back to school shopping” days. As an adult who no longer attends school, it looks more like refreshing my closet with some warm and cozies for the season, adding some color to my wardrobe, and having fun with layers. And that’s just what I did with a recent Amazon haul filled with casual sweaters, pullovers and cardigans. This colorblock sweater is my favorite of the bunch, giving me all the pumpkin spice feels. And this oversized cardigan is now the fourth I own in this style…I just love the versatility of the lighter waffle knit making it an easy year-round option!
The warmer hues of fall give me life and I love adding them to my wardrobe this time of year. What are some things that get YOU excited for the season?
