A classic blazer is a long time wardrobe staple, and everyone should have at least one good one in their closet. Especially in classic black, blazers offer outfit versatility, easily able to elevate a casual look or dressing them down by pairing it with a pair of distressed denim, a graphic tee, and some sneakers. As much as I love to style a blazer for a more casual look, today I am sharing how layering one can upgrade a basic look, adding instant chic factor!
How I Styled:
Some of my favorite recent blazer find have been from Walmart of all places! I picked up this black blazer first, for an all-black city chic look. I layered it over a simple black tee and paired it with black distressed jeans, a fun pair of leopard print pumps and accessorized with a designer bag for a pop of color. The completed look instantly looks and feels more luxe, especially with the gold button details. As a native New Yorker I cannot escape the monochromatic all black look! If your office is more of a corporate vibe or doesn’t participate in casual Fridays, you can just as easily dial it up a notch even further by pairing it with a silk or lace trim cami, pencil skirt, and some pointed toe pumps.
I was super impressed by the look and quality of this blazer, a strong contender for a budget friendly alternative to some more expensive retailers. But at a fraction of the price, I had to pick one up in beige and a sleek bone white color as well! I styled the both the beige and white blazers with some classic blue denim and black tee for a more casual smart vibe.
All in all, this piece is a solid investment, especially at this price! From elevating a casual look to having a versatile workhorse staple, the classic blazer is where it’s at.
