“Traveling—it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”
London was calling, so I had to answer. This past weekend I took a trip to none other than my favorite place in the world to go to- England! Every time I visit this beautiful country I make sure to always try out new and different restaurants for a fun and unique dining experience for myself.
This time around I knew that I just had to check out Hawksmoor Manchester and, spoiler alert, I was not let down.
The Hawksmoor Manchester is a late Victorian era restaurant that strives to serve the best steaks in Manchester. They stay true to the style and century of the former courthouse by incorporating elements from that time period into the now fully functioning restaurant. From the second I walked through the door, the mix of traditional and contemporary decor offered a very welcoming atmosphere, and couldn’t wait to dig in. Let’s eat!
I started the night off with the most amazing pan seared scallops with white port & garlic along with the half native lobster too. I am not much of a seafood eater but these options were seasoned so well and only got better and better with each and every bite. My mouth is watering just thinking about them – I wish I had some with me right now!
For my main course at the Hawksmoor Manchester, I splurged on both the porterhouse and the chateaubriand steaks and could not be more happy that I did. Both steaks were so juicy and tender, and were cooked to perfection. I would not have been able to ask for a better steak, if only I could have it with me here in America too! But wait, they are opening a location here in New York City in spring time! My countdown has started!
Then came the sides. Who could ever say no to some tasty sides along with their meal too?! It was not an easy decision to narrow down my choices, but eventually I decided on the dripping fries, the short rib macaroni and the creamed spinach. If you are a cheese lover like me then you simply must get the macaroni or else you would really be missing out! All of these sides only helped to enhance not only my meal but my entire experience that evening and I wish I could go back to relive it again.
The Hawksmoor Manchester without a doubt exceeded all of my dining expectations that evening with there classic, savory and most of all delicious food options, warm atmosphere and very friendly waitstaff. This is easily a meal that I will never forget and if you ever take a trip across the pond and find yourself in the neighborhood, I would highly recommend you to reserve your table and give it a try!
