It’s been a couple months now that my daily outfits have pretty consistently involved joggers, pullovers, leggings and sweatshirts with a steady rotation of all day pajamas in between. But I’m happy to report I’ve slowly been getting back into my fashion blogger mode and playing dress up has been refreshing!
I’ll be honest, it’s been a lot harder to get dressed for the day when I’ve had nowhere to go. Even if I was only dressing for try-ons, I would take advantage of an outfit and find somewhere to go just to get my wears worth! Quarantine life has pretty much brought that to a screaching halt, and I’ve been living in all the cozy things, just because i can.
Having said that, I was starting to miss putting outfits together. It was easier when wintery days were still lingering (I absolutely hate being cold) and I was perfectly fine living in all the cozy lounge wear and fuzzy slippers. However once the warmer spring days hit my area, it was hard to resist. So I’m back at it and showcasing some of my recent purchases. All the outfits feature styling summer looks with a jacket, offering a transitional layering option that can easily take you into the season as well as cap it off as we move back into cooler months.
My denim jacket is a closet staple for the season. I opted for a cropped style this time around to showcase some of my shorter bottoms. Jean jackets are so versatile; I love wearing them with maxi dresses, cutoffs or mini skirts like I did here with this asymmetrical mini from Amazon.
Both my blazers are from Express. They’re the exact style, but I loved it so much I picked it up in both the black and white. I love how a chic blazer instantly elevates a look, even if it’s with denim shorts like I wore here. Like keep it casual but make it chic! The gold button accents pop regardless of which color and they compliment my gold accessories (my usual go-to).
Love the option to layer, and jackets offer the ability to transform a look or set the tone. Have fun switching up your jackets with different outfits or snag one of these while they’re on sale!

I’ve been rocking workout clothes every day because I haven’t been going anywhere. But I am looking forward to wearing a blazer and some jean shorts. I absolutely love that look and how you styled it.

I definitely need that cropped denim jacket. I feel like most of the denim jackets I try on are too bulky and long for dresses or when I style them with high-waisted denim. I love the perfect length on that one!
