Quarantine life has been enough of a struggle without your furry best friend needing emergency surgery.

If you have been following along on social media, you may know my Keeshond Bear needed to get a lump removed from his back recently. It was somewhat unexpected, so I hadn’t planned on not being able to leave his side at all for a few days while he was recovering. Because I didn’t know until the day of his procedure that he would need consistent monitoring, I failed to stock my apartment with the necessary essentials for the week.

Why am I sharing this? Because I recently discovered Walmart Express delivery; a new service that delivers more items from the store than ever, getting what you need delivered in 2 hours or less! The chain recently announced the service as a response to the pandemic and as a way to make getting necessities or items needed urgently, (think OTC medications or personal care items). In my case, it looked more like needing last minute groceries for dinner that night and treats for Bear (and some popcorn and soda for me, lol).

Already available in at least 100 stores, the service will expand to nearly  2,000 total stores in the following weeks. The service has already offered customers of Express delivery the ability to order thousands of items, from groceries, everyday essentials, even toys and electronics. I even ordered my Disney puzzle in my recent order for the extra downtime snuggling up with Bear!

During this unexpected event, the convenience of being able to order items last minute offered some relief, and allowed me to focus some of that energy and time caring for my Bear. And although my situation is super specific, having this quick delivery option for any unexpected scenario (like needing fever reducer for a sick child) or even just being pressed for time (like you forgot to thaw your dinner meat) may alleviate any added stress you want to avoid, because sometimes time matters.

Contactless delivery comes from your local Walmart store and the service is available from 8am to 8pm every day with the same everyday low prices you would pay in-store. To get started, customers go to walmart.com/grocery or the Walmart app and search their ZIP code to see if Express Delivery is offered in their area.* User friendly and super quick, it’s a service that offers reliable convenience during difficult times…I couldn’t recommend it more!

* Walmart Express delivery is subject to availability at select stores. Standard delivery fee and/or Express delivery fee may apply. Minimum order applies.

  4. Your post made me so HAPPY! Bear is gorgeous! I love Bear and all the photos you posted made my day. I was having a not so awesome medical day of my own but when I came home and saw the new post featuring Bear it really cheered me up. I am glad Walmart could come through with the goods in your time of need. You and Bear look happy and healthy. And that popcorn doesn’t look so bad either. Thank you for sharing Bear with us and please give him an extra hug from California.

  5. I had no clue they did this! So convenient, especially during this time! I’m still a little weary about going to the grocery store so we’ll have to try this!

  6. I’m so sorry to hear about Bear needing surgery. I can’t even imagine what a struggle that was – and in the middle of everything else going on. Sending love! Good to know about Walmart’s delivery service. I didn’t know that they offered one “in-house”.
