Gone are the days that you only owned a band tee because you were an actual fan of the band’s music. And because I have always been a fan of the look, I couldn’t be happier that the band tee trend has made it socially acceptable to to not only wear all the coveted styles but even make it a wardrobe staple!
Unless you’re of the camp of totally clean and minimal styles only, band tees have become a popular option to rotate into look and is appropriate year round. And if you’re all about it, there’s no shortage of options as so many retailers have jumped on the bandwagon offering an array of styles to choose from. All the ones I’m sharing on today’s post (both band tees and sweatshirts), are from Urban Outfitters.
Part of the allure of the humble band tee is it’s versatility; being able to dress it up or down, adding an edge to any outfit it’s paired with. I love the classic vintage look like this Metallica tee. It gives all the throwback vibes and the faded distressed washed cotton details give it a lived in look that makes it hard not to love. It’s a 1988 tour tee replica featuring glittering Metallica graphics at the front and back with an oversized fit with dropped long sleeves. Between the statement graphic and cozy feels it’s a solid option for the band tee newbie! Similarly, this Sublime graphic t-shirt dress offers the same vibe as the Metallica tee but the super-oversized fit can double an uber casual dress!
Now when I saw these Def Leppard Pyromania and Sublime tie dye band sweatshirts, I had to get them. Having two of my favorite trends combined could not be passed up! I love the looks together, with the tie dye softening the edge of a typical band tee and offering lighter color options make for a fun twist on the trend.
Can go trendy with the fresh take on band tees with all the options now on the market or keep it classic with all the retro vibes we all know. Can’t go wrong with either!
