With the exception of the winter holidays, I have never been the kind of person to decorate my home according to the seasons or any other holiday for that matter. But it took a global pandemic for me to entertain all the possibilities of dressing my home beyond function, lol.
To be clear, I am still not running out for every other holiday themed decor. I love seeing others deck out their spaces in all the festive accents for Valentine’s, Easter and so many others….the results are always so fun and pretty! Although I might pickup a knick knack here and there to complement a photo op (blogger life), I typically prefer more permanent decor that can carry through more than the short span a specific holiday would keep. It’s probably why I have been known for putting up a tree and decorating for Christmas before Halloween! I like to juice the season for all the sparkly glam it brings to live my best gentile life, lol.
But since quarantine, I have enjoyed playing with color palettes and adding natural textures to my space to reflect the summer season. I rounded up some recent Walmart faves with some beachy, coastal vibes and some brighter colorful boho accents that give me all the warmer weather feels. Personally, I have been adding natural weave baskets like seagrass, hyacinth and jute, faux plants to give that lush tropical vibe, and throw pillows in lighter linen fabric. Keeping my larger furniture pieces neutral, I find it easier to switch up accents and smaller decorative pieces as the seasons change.
