August was the month I got out more than I have in all of the last six months of quarantine, and I made the most out of it by putting some of my recent purchases to good use.
For no other reason other than my Keeshond Bear had some vet appointments and I had some necessary errands to run, I opted to try on some pieces from a recent collective haul. Some items I have already featured in recent posts like my new Adidas Yeezy Boosts, (seriously one of the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned) which I styled this time around with my beloved Alo moto leggings and my new cropped sweatshirt hoodie from Revolve.
This was Bear’s first day out since his procedure, and I’m so happy to report Bear is doing so much better; so much so I got to take him out to enjoy several summer evening walks. I took full advantage and broke in some other new sneaker finds: my New Balance 574’s, a classic neutral elevated with animal print trim and these lightweight knit running sneakers from Amazon, a solid dupe for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale Adidas UltraBoost sneakers.
Another great NSale dupe I found on Amazon was this camo print utility jacket. I love the print for fall and had my eye on a camo jacket during the Nordstrom sale. Sadly the Madewell camo jacket offered in the sale sold out before I could get my hands on it, so I was all too thrilled to find this one for a super similar look at a fraction of the price…I can never resist a good “look for less!”
On one other occasion this month I “dressed up” a bit for Sunday brunch. I decided to treat myself to some yummy eats from one of my favorite local spots that recently opened their doors back up after renovating their space to accomodate outdoor seating. I had to pull out the sequins for this one, lol. I did so with this embellished striped tee and blazer combo from Express paired with distressed denim and a chic clutch.
Putting on some “dressier” pieces has a way of lifting my mood, and made my brunch feel that much more special. With pandemics still limiting things, have you found yourself “dressing up” for casual/mundane things?
