Styling Fall Looks

October is the season of pumpkin patches, apple cider doughnuts, cozy drinks and spooky season movie nights.

Although it’s officially been Fall for a couple weeks now, October is when it really starts to give me all the season’s cozy vibes, at least here on Long Island. I shared in a recent post that I did not hesitate to make my way to a local century old cider mill to get my cider doughnut fix the first weekend of the month, so good! This time around I skipped the pumpkin patch and opted for the less crowded, open air season market where there was no shortage of gourds, and I couldn’t help but take my blogger required pumpkin pic, lol.

The weather was perfect; chilly enough to break out some of my recent fall fashion finds like this wool blend blazer jacket from Abercrombie. It’s a classic look updated in a modern silhouette that’s versatile enough for the office, or in my case, with casual basics at the pumpkin patch market. I love the quality for the price point and although camel is a color I will always gravitate towards for the season, they also offer this jacket in timeless houndstooth, herringbone and plaid options for that New England chic!

For a dressier option, I picked up this wool blend belted dad coat, also from Abercrombie, (pictured below). It can just as easily be dressed down with a casual sweater, denim and sneakers, but I like that the belt option allows to cinch at the waist to provide a more structured look.

As usual I picked up on some new cozy knit sweaters and cardigans last month but may have indulged a bit in the sneaker department. Retailers are answering my leopard love prayers because I snagged SEVERAL pairs of sneakers featuring animal print accents. These Adidas Swift Run leopard kicks are just what I needed for my countless black and gray outfits and these New Balance cheetah print sneakers will be my casual footwear go-to for my more neutral looks. Every pair I picked up was a win, and I will have each on steady rotation through the season and beyond.

For those Halloween movie nights at home, or just plain old cozy nights in, I have been living in these leopard joggers and plush faux fur slippers. Already knocked off Hocus Pocus off my list and looking forward to more spooky season faves. What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

  1. The burnt orange cardigan is hands down my favorite piece here. You’ve got great style for autumn and every other season.
