Summer is upon us soon enough and I was looking for some home inspiration that would inject some of the season’s lighter and breezy feels into my spaces at home.
Neutrals are always a safe place to start because you can layer and add colors, fabrics and accents until you reached your desired outcome. I’ve said it before, because I rent, I cannot make permanent changes to my space so I have to work with my furniture and decor choices to achieve the look I want.
For reference, my apartment has an industrial feel with dark grey flooring throughout so I appreciate the duplex height windows and white walls brightening up the place. But sometimes, on cloudier days (and especially during winter months), it can get pretty dark and dreary in there. Because of that, I like to keep my larger furniture pieces on the lighter side of neutral, some of them even white. So although I try to achieve this look year round, the sandy and creamy tones of summer were the inspiration of these design mood boards I’m sharing today.
I also included some bathroom inspo because sometimes it’s the space most often ignored and for many the hardest to work around if you don’t have the luxury of a full overhall and renovation. Making your bathroom a retreat can be as easy as having a bath caddy to hold a glass of your favorite wine, a good book or a landing space for some of your favorite spa body care while you soak the day away.
Ultimately, your home should bring you joy so I encourage you to look for pieces that do just that!
