Mother Nature has recently been teasing with unseasonably cooler temps this last week, and it has me shopping my closet for all the fall fashion looks I plan on wearing this season.
I have already shared some casual looks styling wardrobe staples in a previous post here if you’re looking for some additional outfit inspo, but today’s post is dedicated to this fun, on trend plaid trench. Nothing says Fall quite like a good plaid. The pattern is a classic for a reason, so it’s no surprise this season the timeless pattern gets a fashionable upgrade (with an obvious nod to the 90’s throwback). This season you’ll see the print highlighted well beyond the usual flannel, and in larger scale prints for a fresh take on the classic.
And at just $35, this jacket is a steal, (and it’s currently on sale for even less!). It is a comfortable medium weight, perfect for transitional weather, and also and malleable enough to layer over a thicker sweater. It features a single button closure and hits right at the knee…the perfect length to dress up with a solid dress in complementing color, or dial it back like I did here.
I opted to style it with a more casual look, as realistically it is how I am most likely to wear it. I kept my outfit in a monochromatic tone on tone of creamy whites in a simple and breezy linen blend v neck t-shirt and ultra soft fleece Nike joggers. I capped off the look with classic white 80’s style Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, and a couple of designer accessories: my favorite neutral handbag and oversized sunnies.
It’s a piece I will have fun wearing, as the colors offer the versatility of styling it in warm neutrals, winter whites or with my go-to all black New Yorker vibes, lol.
