Long days at home these last few months, like many, have resulted in me having to pivot my daily routines. For me, that included my caffeine fix.

When it came to my coffee, I was used to picking up some fresh brew at my favorite local coffee house just around the corner, but when shelter in place orders became the thing, one of the things to go was my daily cup of coffee. It was a little luxury I treated myself to, but it was also a welcomed break since I was already working from home. The shop was always full of freelance types working on their laptops and so it was easy for me to get some work done there as well on days I wanted a change of scenery while I enjoyed my latte.

Since self quarantining at home, it wasn’t long before I was shopping coffee machines. If you can believe it, I didn’t even own a simple standard one!…Like I said, I enjoyed the whole coffee house experience, and now I was determined to make the best effort on replicating that experience at home.

After much consideration on all the choices available, I ultimately decided on a combo option: the Nespresso Vertuo Coffee and Espresso Machine by De’Longhi. It basically came down to wanting the ease of using coffee and espresso pods and the trusted brands. It’s the first of it’s kind, to brew both regular drip coffee and authentic espresso. Perfect since my boyfriend and I enjoy drinking both, but without having to sacrifice the additonal counter space of a second machine. Totally user-friendly, just pop in a Nespresso capsule of your choice, and the machine scans the capsule’s bar code, then automatically custom-brews the ultimate cup of coffee or espresso!

And for those hot summer days that required an iced coffee or latte, this HyperChiller from Amazon was a game changer! It works with ALL types of coffee makers whether you use a single brew or a K-Cup system; just brew directly into your HyperChiller from your espresso machine or pour the coffee from the carafe from your drip coffee maker and you are iced in 60 seconds! Mostly, I appreciate the convenience of making my iced drinks without the dilution. Great for coffee drinks but can use for anything you want icey cold in a pinch!
