I will begin by saying I am not getting all dressed and ready with nowhere to go these days, but I ordered all these cute pieces from Express to freshen my Spring and Summer wardrobe so I’ll be ready to go when the time comes!
Although working from home has had me living in all the cozy things regularly, I still took the opportunity to style outfits and wear them around town for anything that got me out of the house. Today I’m sharing three looks, all of which I managed to get to wear before all the shelter in place orders took over our area.
For those that may not know, I live on Long Island and living by the coast can still bring chilly breezes on warmer Spring and Summer days. Because of that, you’ll often find me wearing a lighter knit sweater paired with shorts because I hate being cold! I will typically wear lighter colors or lighter weight styles like this mixed stitch tunic sweater. It’s open knit weave makes it the perfect transition piece into warmer temperatures. I tucked them into these high waisted sash tie shorts for this look and love the combo together, but the sweater length is ideal to wear with leggings as well.
My next look was from a day I attended an informal working lunch. As a fashion blogger I can get away without the super formal business attire, but a sharp blazer still means business, even if I’m wearing them with my favorite dark wash jeans here. The gold detail on this double breasted button front blazer really pops against the black. To compliment that, I layered gold necklaces and wore with my leopard bag for a pop of fun print.
Lastly, the final look was a Saturday out with friends, so the look was a simple cami and jeans with this lace kimono layered over top. It was a milder sunny day so I wanted the extra layer without the bulk. Loved wearing it with this basic look, but it’s a versatile piece that can double as a bathing suit cover up, and it will likely be how I’ll be getting the most use of it!
Love them all and looking forward to wearing them again sometime soon. Which look is your favorite?
