WHERE TO STAY:
Address: 510 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036 Phone Number: (212) 947-2999
I recently spent the weekend at the newly renovated Cachet Boutique hotel with my friend, Brittany, for New York Fashion week. I live on Long Island and only go into the city whenever she comes into town from Miami. So basically that’s once a year! We always try to find nice hotels that are affordable and in a central location to everything we want to see and do since we aren’t really subway riders. Finding an affordable and nice hotel in NYC is a bit of a struggle sometimes but we came across The Cachet Boutique Hotel with rooms starting as low as $145 per night.
From the second we walked into the hotel we were treated like family and felt so comfortable as if we were home. The staff are amazing and very welcoming, every time you come in or are leaving they will greet you, ask you if you need anything, or just wish you a great day. Everyone from the front staff to the maintenance man and cleaners were just so nice and very accommodating.
We stayed in the newly renovated King Suite. The room was very spacious and modern and included a stocked mini fridge and a safe for personal belongings. The bathroom was very big, and included bath soaps as well as a hair dryer and two plush robes.
The location is perfect with the hotel conveniently located in Hell’s Kitchen, 42nd Street between 10th and 11th Avenue. From the hotel it is a ten minute walk to Time Square and the theater district. The closest subway/port authority bus terminal is only a five minute walk. To go from the hotel to JFK airport by train is approxamily a hour and ten minutes. If you drive in, it will basically take you the same amount of time. If you need a convenience store and to stock the mini fridge with waters and snacks there is a CVS store open 24hrs/7 days and it’s only a minute walk up the block. Everything is conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel and is very safe.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Cachet Boutique hotel. The beds were really comfortable and the room was equipped with everything you might need for your stay. Including an umbrella which came in handy. If you love art, you will definitely love the new lobby area. When Brittany comes back, I am sure this will be our go to hotel.
RESTAURANT:
A newly renovated restaurant has opened along side the hotel called Eden Local. Eden is open from 6:30am-10:30pm. Make sure to try the green juice if you stop in. That was one of my favorites. See my Eden Local post for more information.
