As I’ve gone down all the home decor and design rabbit holes of the internet, I’ve come to appreciate all the different design styles that I previously would not have considered for some of my own home’s spaces. As the requests for more home content continues from my followers, I have moved passed my comfort zone to bring even more pieces from different design styles to my inspo boards.
On today’s post, I’m sharing some Modern, Industrial and Minimalist inspired furniture and decor. I grouped these together because they all share aspects of clean lines and with minimal details. I also see that throughout all, there are a lot of metal elements which I think would help bring certain pieces together for a cohesive look.
Modern design is typically categorized having furniture with clean lines, usually with with smooth, sleek surfaces and decor is kept minimal. Typically there might be metal, chrome, and glass accents in a modern designed space, much like this chrome and glass console table. Modern spaces tend to stay neutral for the most part with but can be dressed with bold and colorful accents like throw pillows, wall art or sculptural pieces. Very similar to Minimalist design in all of these, except with the “less is more” mentality. Keeping all the clean lines, furniture more functional and storage to keep clutter out of sight.
Lastly, industrial interior design style has a more unfinished quality; think exposed pipes and beams like they’re featured in this wall mounted shelving. Wall and floors might keep things raw like exposed brick and concrete which can bring texture and character to a space. So although Industrial design can lean more rustic, I think adding mixing it up with other design elements can soften the space and create a balance that keeps the rough look a little lighter, like my favorite clothing rack I DYI’d myself. It has all the industrial vibes but lives in my light and bright space!
