As a New Yorker, I always wish it was the norm to take a 30 minute break and enjoy a nice cup of afternoon tea. The only thing New Yorkers are known for is fueling up on coffee during all hours of the day without any breaks, yes I know we’re crazy! Well, while in London, I got to do as the London folk do and enjoy that cup of afternoon tea! Before we went on any adventures or went to any fashion shows we HAD to stop at Maitre Choux; a one-of-a kind bakery that serves you tiers of pastries paired with champagne and rosé.

Maitre Choux is the first and only choux pastry specialist patisserie in the world. So, you will need to travel to London to try for yourself! For those of you, like me, who are not familiar with choux, it is a light pastry dough and it is to die for! Maitre Choux is best known for it’s indescribable pastries including the most perfect éclairs, choux and chouquettes. Basically, everything they serve is a bloggers dream to take pictures of and with for instagram!

We indulged in the Sweet Pink Afternoon Tea, which the restaurant describes as “an ode to the taste buds”. This option was the perfect sharing size for two people, and included amazing chouquettes, éclairs and choux, paired with one glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée, and one glass of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé. This place was all about presentation, the pastries came on a three-tier cookie stand and the champagne was served in classy, glass flutes.

I wish there was a location in New York, because I would be their number one customer! I absolutely loved this cute little shop, and the delicious treats they served! They do have a website where you can order some treats – but it’s not the same as experiencing this exquisite place first hand. I can’t wait to go back to London and visit Maitre Choux for sweet pink afternoon tea again!
