I am not your veteran beauty guru, so normally I would shy away from offering makeup tutorials, skincare tips or hairstyling how-tos. The exception will always be when I find something that I end up loving because it really works for me and I get excited to share it with my followers.

Because beauty related content is a little out of my comfort zone, I’ll preface this post by saying that I’m only sharing what has worked for me. For reference, I have super thin, oily hair that can’t go more than a day without washing before it turns into a grease ball. Because my hair is so naturally oily, it tends to weigh down my styled looks so curls and such tend to fall shortly after.

Because of this, my hair care routine pretty much has gone unchanged for a long while. After trying out tons of different products for washing my hair, I’ve found that the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day shampoo and conditioner worked best for not weighing my hair down as quickly. I will use the LP Color Care one for when I’ve color treated me hair and all some It’s a 10 Leave in Conditioner before letting it air dry. Otherwise I don’t typically switch things up.

With that being said, I recently discovered this hair care line from Kerastase. Specifically, the Genesis Oily Weakened Hair Deep Treatment Hair Care Set. Designed to gently cleanse and add intense moisture while providing oil control; something that I desperately need! The result is healthier hair that’s both shiny and full of volume and bounce. The added bonus is that it helps to fortify strands making it less prone to breakage. For added protection, I stimulate my hair follicles and detangle my hair in the shower with this scalp massager. Afterwards I brush my hair with my Wet Brush, further minimizing fallout and breakage.

Now, before heat styling my hair, I’m using the Défense Thermique Blow Dry Primer that hydrates and promises to offer 24H protection against frizz even in high conditions of humidity. But more importantly, I love how it’s been protecting hair from blow-dry and curling wand heat and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy.

All in all I’m super impressed with this line and would highly recommend if your needs are similar to mine!

  1. I love the Wet Brush, and I have tried Kerastase and loved it on my fine hair! I need a scalp massager, too!

  2. I’ll definitely do whatever it takes to have healthy, shiny, beautiful hair like yours. Mine is flat and thin and fine and I usually hate it (aside from the color, which I love because my stylist rocks). I gotta try your routine!

  3. I always love reading about other people’s routines! I love Kerastase products too!
