I am finally back on the East Coast after a 5-day trip to London for London Fashion Week with my blogger bestie, Brittany. We jam packed our days with fabulous shows, amazing sights and most importantly- delicious meals! On one of our final days, we went to the Paul Costelloe show at 9:30 am which was just exquisite. By the time the show ended we were starving but did not want to indulge in too heavy of a meal as we still had a busy afternoon ahead of us after lunch.
We lunched in the heart of Clerkenwell Green at a delicious restaurant tucked between Saint Pancras and Kings Cross stations, Granger & Co. It featured stylish decor, an Australian/International style menu and quaint ambiance. Upon entering, we had NO idea what Australian cuisine entailed but we quickly discovered this menu has something for everyone. There is even a special menu dedicated to those with food allergies!
We started off our meal with a delicious burrata complemented with grilled courgettes, dill and green tomato oil. It was definitely not your typical round burrata as it came topped with grilled zucchini and was presented as a spread. It was quite tasty topped on a piece of warm toast. I was very tempted to try the chilli, sesame and peanut crispy chicken over iceberg lettuce, but I just couldn’t turn down a burrata!
Next, I got the tomato, straciatella and basil oil pizzeta. It was the perfect personal size pizza, with scoops of straciatella cheese and a light sauce. The crust was crisp, thin and crunchy just the way a brick oven pizza crust should be. Being a born and raised New Yorker, I consider myself a bit of a pizza connoisseur and this scrumptious pizzeta definitely lived up to my NY pizza standards.
I would absolutely recommend Granger & Co for any meal as they have ample options for picky eaters, those with food allergies or if you’re like me those who will indulge in anything covered with cheese! I know I will be returning on my next visit to London!
