There’s something so exciting about coming up with an unexpected, interesting outfit. Case in point: today’s combo. A detailed bralette layered with a slinky camisole and a cardigan on top. Why do I love it? Well not only does it extend the life of my warm weather tanks, it opens up to a world of endless combinations that I never thought possible. The basic camisole is a versatile and essential part of any women’s wardrobe. That is why when I find a camisole I like, I buy it in every color possible. The simple design and thin straps make it a basic piece to wear from day to night. A loose fitting camisole is great as a going out top when paired with distressed skinny jeans or tucked into your favorite maxi skirt. A more fitted, cotton camisole is great for adding layers under a sweater and sweatshirt for added warmth. They are also very useful as an undergarment if you have to wear a low neckline outfit. You can match it to the color of your outfit.

Do’s

Experiment with color. Try wearing any color underneath your black lace top to spruce up your look. Make sure to find your favorite strapless bra to wear underneath your camisole for a nice clean look. If you are like me, and lack in that area, I tend to go bra-less a lot, but if you need more support, try finding a cami with a built in bra. Wear a silk camisole under a blazer for your daily office look. For a more laid back look, just throw on your favorite chunky knit cardigan on top like I always do. Tuck your favorite lace camisole into your boyfriend jeans or distressed denim for more of a chic look. I love that this once pajama trend has turned into your everyday wear. Try finding a camisole with a more flowing, relaxed fit for more of a flattering look.

Don’ts

Make sure to not pair your most fitted camisole with the tightest jeans. You can create a muffin look if you do so. Try pairing your fitted cami’s into a denim skirt and layer a cardigan on top or a moto jacket. If you are overly busty, look for camisoles with a straight neckline over a draped cami.

  2. I have so much trouble finding camisoles that fit and flatter my build just because I have such a nonexistent chest, BUT I do love when I find the perfect one! I have this one silk one that’s seriously just stunning and makes me want to own an entire wardrobe full of them haha. The cami you’re styling is super cute and I’m obsessed with your jacket!
