Despite all of my dressed up pictures that you see on my blog and Instagram, I really mostly enjoy dressing on the casual side.  I like to look and feel comfortable in what I am wearing. It is very rare that you will see me outside of social media looking like a Kardashian.  I came across these amazing high waisted tie paper bag shorts and they are SO comfortable and can be dressed up so easily just be adding some pumps. However, I wanted to style this look as casual and low-key as possible. Keep reading to find out how I styled my new High Waisted Sash Tie Linen-Blend Utility Shorts.

For starters, these paper bag shorts are from one of my favorite retailers, Express and are available in multiple color ways, styles and fits. I happen to have really loved the camel color in these high waisted utility shorts with a cute little tie that acts as a belt.  I ordered my usual size small in these shorts but easily could have worn a size extra small as well. Like I said, I wanted to keep this look very simple, casual and neutral. Hence, the camel color I chose to style these shorts in.

I added the mushiest, lightest Velvet Chenille Open Stitch Sweater in ivory with to wear with these shorts. This sweater is also available in black, which I of course ordered too because the fabric of this sweater is too yummy to pass up. The feel is so soft against my skin, I just love the feeling and texture of chenille, I am a bit of a fabric fanatic when it comes to soft materials like chenille. I am wearing a size XS in this sweater which is my usual size in Express sweaters as they tend to run a bit larger in my opinion. I think I would have been satisfied with the fit of the Small too. I decided to go for an easy, basic neutral friendly look with the ivory sweater paired with the camel color utility shorts.

For the finishing touches to my casual spring vibe, I paired these adorable brown Dolce Vita Corbey Sandals with pops of leopard print and silver studs on the straps, ya know, to add a little spice to my look. I also decided to wear my favorite Sole Society Destin Satchel, which is available in eight, yes eight, different colorways! I love that this bag resembles the very expensive designer Chloe bag that I have been lusting over for years so this bag satisfy that craving. Plus, it’s only $69! It’s so hard to find a great camel colored satchel at an affordable price point, but I definitely found it!

FIT TIPS:

Chenille Sweater is TTS. I’m wearing a size XS.
Shorts fit TTS. I’m wearing a size 4.
Sandals run TTS. I’m wearing size 8.5.

Sizing reference:

I’m 5’5″. Typically wear 8.5 in shoes. S/4 in tops and dresses. 27 in Jeans.
