What you’ll need:

Donut Tray (mine is from Target)
1 cup of Flour
1 cup of Oats (I used steel cut oats)
⅓ cup of Coconut Oil
½ cup of Peanut Butter (I used skippy)
2 Eggs
Greek Yogurt
Bacon Bits

All of these ingredients are human friendly too, this recipe will make 6 doggy donuts.

Step One: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Next, use a non-stick cooking spray to spray your donut tray to prevent the donuts from sticking to the tray.

Step Two: Combine the 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of oats, ⅓ cup of coconut oil, ½ cup of peanut butter and the 2 eggs into one large bowl.  Mix together until a thick, doughy texture has been created.

Step Three: The next step is crucial, putting the mixture into the donut molds.  You want to make sure that the dough is packed in nice and tight as these donuts will not rise so be sure to fill the entire molding with dough!

Step Four: Bake the donuts in your preheated oven for about 15 minutes and then remove and let cool for 10 minutes before decorating.

Step Five: In two bowls pour half a cup of the greek yogurt and pour half a cup of bacon bits.  Once the donuts have cooled, let the decorating begin! First, dip the top part of the donut into the greek yogurt (you may need to use a knife to spread the yogurt evenly) and then dip the frosted donut into the bacon bits bowl, you may also sprinkle the bacon bits on top instead of dipping for a neater look.

Finally, VOILA! Serve to your fur friend and watch them enjoy!

With Bear’s 15th birthday around the corner I wanted to try something a little different this year to celebrate my beloved’s birthday. I obviously knew I wanted to throw him a little “paw-ty” so I ordered these adorable “Fur Ever Young” gold letter balloons from Etsy to decorate along with some paw printed white and black balloons to set the mood for Bear’s party.

As a serial donut eater it felt only right to make some dog friendly donut treats for Bear for his birthday so I found this super easy, and delicious recipe and they tasted even better than they came out!  (yep, I tried them!)
