Finding great Italian food in Little Italy is easy to come by but finding a good cocktail bar with great food might be a little harder. If you find yourself exploring Little Italy and are looking for a great cocktail experience and some food. Dante at GENUINE probably has the best cocktails in town, a complete cocktail experience. Their cocktail menu is truly unique and crafty. It was more than a drink, it was an art. This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a craft cocktail made with care. The bartenders take their time making the drinks to perfection and you won’t be disappointed.
To start, my guest and I shared a charcuterie board which included Casella’s heritage prosciutto hurleyville, Saucisson sec ends meat, spicy sopressata brooklyn cured, Bayley hazen blue raw cow’s milk, Taleggio cow’s milk, Humboldt fog raw goat’s milk, parmesan wheel and green olives. We decided to order a few flat breads and share. We had the caprese flatbread which was made with lioni mozzarella, tomato, basil, chili. Secondly we had the funghi flatbread which had truffled creama, pickled red onion, provolone. Lastly, we tried the pancetta flatbread which had lioni mozzarella, pomodoro, basil, and fried egg. Also, they gave us slices of warm, toasted sourdough bread throughout the whole meal, which is always a plus in my book!
Dante at Genuine is the perfect spot for a romantic date with intimate seating or sipping on drinks with friends. Whatever it is, definitely make it a stop while walking around Little Italy. Though this is a small spot, you can guarantee there will be lots of people there in the afternoons. If you are going with a few people I would suggest making reservations in advance to avoid any disappointment. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip into the city!
