Wearing neutrals is my style comfort zone and bold color rarely makes an appearance in my looks, but every Fall my wardrobe warms up with deeper hues and breathes new life into my wardrobe.
No other time of year makes the most color impact to my style than the Fall season. Maybe because the color spectrum doesn’t vear too far off, as most are just deeper, more saturated warm neutrals. But whatever the logic, I love this time of year fo adding some spice to my outfits with tones of camel, siennas, burnt oranges, burgundies and rich browns.
My first look is all about that, and I would venture to even call it my Fall uniform since some variation of this makes an appearance every year. A basic top with denim paired with a oversized cardigan, tall boots, wool fedora and chunky plaid blanket scarf. The “uniform” makes styling a look a no-brainer; and swapping out accessories for different color options or replacing ankle booties in place of taller ones, totally makes for a different outfit altogther.
Although Fall is when the most color makes an appearance into my style lineup, my wardobe will always consist of neutral casual basics that serve as the core foundation of all my looks. These will forever include chunky pullover sweaters, boyfriend fit or oversized cardigans and versatile casual tops. And being a fashion blogger, I have a constant revolving door of options to style a myriad of looks, but at the end of the day, I have my tried and true favorites that serve as my “capsule wardobe” that get the most love every season. I love adding interest to these “blank canvases” with color, textures and layers in the form of handbags, hats and scarves.
So regardless of the size of your wardrobe, having a small collection of budget friendly accessories offers the ability to transform a look and maximizing outfit options, especially for fall and winter. Scarves might be my all time favorite this time of year for all the different colors and styles available. Do you gave a favorite?
