Arrivals and Departures:

When flying into Miami, you have 2 options either Miami International or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. I flew from Long Island MacArthur airport into Fort Lauderdale this time since it saved a little money and it is about the same distance to South Beach. The Uber cost is approximately $38 and took 30 minutes to get to the heart of South Beach.

Hotel:

W South Beach

I did not stay here for this trip but if you are looking for a convenient hotel to stay at during swim week then the W South Beach is the place to be. A lot of the top swim fashion shows are held by the pool at this beautiful and trendy hotel. It doesn’t hurt that my favorite restaurant Mr. Chows is located right in the front. If you go make sure to order the crispy beef. It is one of my all time favorite dishes!

Food:

I Heart Mac & Cheese

This place has some good old comfort style food. You can choose your pasta, cheese, and toppings or be lazy like we did and choose from a large selection of pre-set item. All items are made to order right on the spot so you know they will always be fresh. Every item we tried was very cheesy and filled with fresh ingredients. They take grilled cheese to a whole other level by combining a grilled cheese sandwich and stuffing it with macaroni and cheese. I was fairly hungry but trying not to eat that much since we were going to watch skinny models walk the runway right after for swim week but OMG the mac and cheese sandwich with brisket was CRACK! I kept saying to myself only eat half but I couldn’t stop, I had a few more bites and finished that other half! Five stars for customer service. The manager and staff are extremely nice people, and very helpful. The sandwiches pictured above are the Mac & cheese with brisket, chicken parm, buffalo chicken, and a grilled cheese. I highly recommend the Mac and cheese with brisket.

The bad news is that most of the swimsuits that walked the runway at Miami Swim Fashion Week will not be available to buy until 2017 which makes me sad! Below here are some of this years hottest bathing suit trends such as sheer cut-outs and nude bathing suits.

Tips on how to dress to Swim Week:

Miami in July is HOT HOT HOT! Which means do not wear jeans unless you want to feel like you are baking from the inside. Make sure to wear light and breezy pieces and stay away from things like silk that will make you sweat even more and pair it with a pair of flat sandals or wedge heels. Even my feet were sweating so much and expanding in my heels that I wanted to walk barefoot! I would recommend putting your hair in a pony tail or anything to lift your hair off the shoulders. It was so hot that within 15 minutes I regretted not bringing a hair tie.

Red Carter is one of my favorite bikini lines out there. Their swimwear is really designed for a women’s body so the fit is on point and true to size. I love the different prints and all of the styles they have to offer every season. What is your favorite bikini line?

Peace out Miami! I will see you next year.
